My friend, Terry, and I went for a walk out on the West Glacier Trail this afternoon. There's some snow out there and there were people out on the lake ... although there was open water along the shore, so I'm not sure how smart they were being. We walked as far as the big rock overlook ... which isn't really a very good view anymore because the trees have grown up so much around and on it. There was lots of bright green moss, little creeks tumbling down the hills (aren't they supposed to be frozen this time of year?), and green ferns, and new buds opening on some of the trees!

Our new indoor-outdoor thermometer (a Christmas gift from the Taylors) registers 59.9 outside our bathroom window right now. It isn't January here, either.
The magnolia trees outside work are budding. Probably not a smart thing to do.

We're also having a warm spell. It's 14-15°C inside the apartment without the fire!
