We in Baltimore are alive and well. We had our first snow of the winter on Sunday, finally, and then it snowed again today. There's not much left on the ground. Still, we're happy that we didn't get shut out for the year.

I spent most of January working frantically (to some extent) towards a paper deadline which has now past these two days. My machine translation decoder is still not fast enough to publish my results. I'll spend the next couple of weeks trying to speed it up. There's one more paper deadline on March 26. I actually started a post a week or so ago when I first got my decoder working. I was going to report my very first translation. But I never finished it. Not the first translation, I mean, but the post.

Other than that I've been playing with statistical models of the fantasy baseball league that Evan and I participate in, watching and complaining about the NFL playoffs, and (slowly) reading Mulligan Stew.
