We had an intense exhibition installation, often fun but not without drama. A wonderful team emerged -- seven different students, NCAD faculty or symposium participants did significant amounts of work in addition to Anwyl and me. Anwyl shone, installing the first of four mural-size works almost single handed -- the one pictured here, which is based on (not an exact copy of) the Keeling Curve, from the historic first publication of data showing consistent rise in carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere, despite seasonal variations. The black lines are made with tape -- our friend Michael Lynch visited my studio not long before we left, and told me about tape cutting machines (you can set the length and have it cut tape automatically). Serendipity -- we got a modest one to take with us and it was a huge help. The front of the gallery was a big window wall so our installation was almost theater for people on the street -- below I am cutting out the print that you see the folks on the scaffold getting ready to install.
