Grandma Evelyn's Alzheimer's made a ride to the hospital in the ambulance necessary for her the evening of Sunday, February 4. Her doctor had been very concerned about her weight loss. She was also getting very dehydrated. Grandpa Gene had been feeding her so she would eat her food and encouraging her to drink the chocolate Ensure between meals to try to keep her strength up. Grandpa also kept her well supplied with her favorite candy, peanut clusters.
Grandpa Gene is very thankful that Kristen and Tom arrived from Juneau, Alaska the evening grandma had to be taken to the hospital.
Dr. Shaffei tells us the grandma will need to remain in the hospital several days until she gains enough strength to go to the Good Samaritan facility. We are fortunate that they have a room available in the women's Alzheimer's section.
Tom needs to leave for Alaska Wednesday. Grandpa Gene is counting his blessing as Kristen will be able to stay a few days to help with grandma Evelyn"s transfer to Good Samaritan.
Grandpa and grandma will appreciate your support in their time of need.
