"The Night Before Christmas" illustrated by Douglas Gorsline

This was also a 2011 Christmas gift to Maëva from Evan and Jenn. Much like "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer," we finally read it for the first time yesterday when she finally decided to pick it out herself. "The Night Before Christmas" is the traditional poem in book form. Hence, it is very fun to read. With all of the fun rhyming, I won't mind being frequently sollicited for this one if that turns out to be the case. The illustrator of this volume decided to give the family a black cat, which can be seen in all (I think) of the interior illustrations. Maëva seemed most interested in what the cat was doing throughout the story, though to be fair, until Santa finally appeared, she kept asking about him as well.
