The descent has begun

We got the keys to our new apartment—202 downstairs—this afternoon, and this evening moved most of our living room and kitchen down the two flights. Occasionally we made use of the elevator. We were joined by two friends: Nicole's co-teacher Kate, and a friend of a co-teacher named Bill. The whole process should be completed by Wednesday morning, but there's still a lot of work left to do.

That's right. In case you hadn't already heard, we're moving. Our address remains the same except for the apartment number (and the ZIP+4, but who cares about that?). Our phone number will also remain the same.

Stay tuned for either some photos or a video walk-through. I'm leaning towards the latter, but have to make sure the camera is up to the task. I don't know how quickly our internet access will be working again, though, so you may have to hang in suspense for a few days. I suspect we'll be back on-line before Tanya, though.

Congratulations. I look forward to seeing the new, enlarged 'digs.'

So it's a larger apartment? Can't wait to see the photos or video. Are you all moved in yet? What prompted this move?

The new apartment has three "bedrooms" and two bathrooms, instead of two and one. Everything else is about the same size except the closets, which are much more spacious. Also, it has a separate living room and dining room.

We have moved everything from upstairs down. That was finished by Wednesday noon. BG&E finally got their act together and turned on our electric service yesterday (Thursday) afternoon, so we moved the contents of the refrigerator/freezer down. That was the last thing. We still have many things left to put away, though.

We decided to move after the old apartment was repainted following the hot water fiasco. We never put all of our things back on the walls and ceilings. We looked around the area for several weeks, hoping to find a row house for rent that would suit us, but came up empty. Many were available, but there was always something not quite right. Instead, we found this other nice apartment in our own building.

I guess you could say the move was prompted by three things: the end of our lease, the shower accident, and the possibility of needing more space.
