Monday started another round in the never-ending home improvement here at 2925 Weymouth Way. What did I do? I ordered a dump truck load of gravel ... 17.4 tons! Now, there is gravel here, gravel there, gravel just about everywhere, including in a dwindling pile on the driveway.
What have we been doing? Well, along with moving gravel and putting it in various spots, we redid a few of the flower beds (exciting!), cut down a tree (it was a little one in between two big ones that just wasn't getting enough sun, but was too big to move), made a spot for our trash can to sit on the west side of our house ... so it's not in front of the garage anymore, started laying flagstone steps for a path off the patio, down the steps, and around to the yard. Oh, and we tilled and smoothed out under where our deck will, eventually, be, laid the black weed fabric and covered it with gravel.
Tree lovers, don't fret, we've planted a tree each of the last two years (our peach tree from last year has little peaches on it) to make up for removing the one today.
What's next? Just trying to get it finished. We're still waiting on a quote on the deck, have to finish off the final touches on the path, finish off the flower beds, cut some wood to ring a couple trees ... then, do a little earthwork on the west side of the back yard cleaning up piles of this or that from all the projects. Wow ... the end may actually be in sight! Hopefully, it will be finished by the next time we have company!

You better hurry since the competition between 2925 Weymouth and 1804 Leeds will be fierce for who gets to house us!
Ordering gravel on a Monday? Does that mean you're out of school now? Did you pass your qualifying exams?
Didn't I say I passed my QE? If not, I did. I've been done with my classes for a while now ... a couple weeks maybe. Now, I have to get back in the swing of research for the summer.
re: trash can, I guess you're not worried about bears.
