It's that time of year again. The days are noticeably growing shorter, and Dad is getting older. I was trying to think how we used to celebrate Dad's birthday growing up, but I'm drawing a blank. Anyone else remember any details?
Anyway, happy birthday! And have a wonderful year.

Roy - I thought you were going for a little poem there, but "shorter" and "older" just don't quite do it.
Anyway, I didn't get any older today than I do every other day, and I'm the youngest I'll be for the rest of my life, so I can't complain about being 47.
Dad
Quarante-sept! What!?
As for celebrating, some sort of chocolate cake, I presume.
I remember a knife in the cake incident, but don't remember whose birthday it was for.
You're right. You definitely can't complain about being forty-seven.
But that's only because you're 51! (just thought I'd help out the mathematically impaired audience)
I think I prefer 47.
The bigger the better! (Maybe it works that way with age numbers too.)
