Snowy in Lascours

As many of you know, the major disappointment of my most recent trip to the US was not getting any real snow anywhere. Mom and I drove through some flakes on our way to Kansas, one day in Norman a few almost miniscule flakes manifested themselves in the air, the same in Pittsburgh, but no significant snow occured anywhere I was (although almost everywhere else around the country seemed to be getting unusual amounts). Yesterday I heard that snow was forecast for during the night. I commmented on Facebook that I was hoping it would snow as planned and got a smartass comment from one brother (who will go unnamed though you can probaby guess his identity) that it would probably snow somewhere. I responded that with my recent record it probably wouldn't be here but that one should always hope ... And, SNOW it did, and still is! I got up this morning at eight and opened the shutters to falling snow and about a centimeter already on the ground. I promptly got out my camera and took the requisite photos. As I type, snow is still falling and it looks like there are at least two centimeters out there, maybe more. Beautiful! Who would have guessed that I'd have to come back to France in order to get my snow!

Eleven-fifteen a.m. and still snowing. There are a couple inches out there already. We're snowed in! Can't get a car down the driveway. Too slippery! The interstate is closed also. I'm waiting for Sylvain to wake up so we can go out and play!!

Does Sylvain like to play in the snow? You could make snow angels.

11:15 AM ... and you're waiting for Sylvain to wake up? Are you kidding me? I was at the gym deadlifting by 7:15 AM!

No snow angels. The snow was too heavy and wet. We went out for a walk down to Roquevaire and back to say hello to Mireille, Alain, Jackye, Gu and Nora. Then last night there was a celebratory "vin chaud" at the Cercle. School has been cancelled today across the whole department. Our cars are still stuck at the house because we still can't get them down the hill. But neither of us really needs to go anywhere so it's not a big deal.

to see photos of our celebratory vin chaud and see how many people you recognize!

The URL didn't work for me.

I just copied it, pasted it in the web browser, and it worked so I'm not sure what the problem is. But you should also be able to find it by googling "ski club lascours blog".
