The end of Daylight Saving Time brings the beginning of darkness in Seattle. I left work right at 5 on Monday, but the sun had already set. For now, there is lingering twilight for some of my walk home, but soon that too will be gone. Fortunately, the walk is well lit almost the entire way. And I have reflective arm/leg bands and a headlamp for the parts that aren't, and for rainy days when the streetlights don't suffice.

All in all, I'd prefer to stay on daylight savings time all year. It just works better at our latitude/longitude.
Me too! Time for the time changes to stop.
I generally agree, but there's a trade-off for us now, because elementary school start times are so early. By December 16, the last day of school for the year, sunrise won't be until 7:52. School starts at 7:55. If we stayed on Daylight Saving Time, we'd be walking to school in the dark for the next month.
You need to move Seattle to a lower latitude.
Then it would be California, and we'd never get any rain.
