Unhappy Anniversary

Last year, the Womxn's March on Seattle was our first political protest.  Encouraged, I became involved with very local (Queen Anne) politics.  I became a regular at the Safety (I only learned later meetings were broken down into "departments") Community Councils Meetings where local activists and leaders promoting or shutting down various efforts - I think that I might be the odd person out, because I didn't quite agree with the majority opinion at these meetings.  I started to attend Coe's Elementary PTA meetings and really got in the heat with boundary lines going to Board Meetings, etc..  It was a long and emotional Spring... only to learn that everything was put on hold because the District was short 5 million dollars.

Seattle Women's March 2.0 took place yesterday, and we marched again.  I'm not marching for one cause such as women's rights or health rights, or racist Presidents, or sex offenders, immigrants, climate change, education, international diplomacy; but rather the sum of all the chaos and hate witnessed this past year.  This cannot be a moment, but a movement; so my next action - voter registration.  Alabama gave clear evidence the real power of democracy.  Midterms 2018....
