What a Circus!

Our friend Fred wound up with some free tickets to the circus, so the plan was for me to join them Friday afternoon at the Medrano circus in Marseille with Maëva, Laureva and Gabrielle. Unfortunately, Maëva came down with a stomach bug during the night so had to stay home while the rest of us went to the circus. Laureva claims her favorite part was the pair of acrobats who did tricks while hanging from their hair. It certainly was impressive! Gabrielle's favorite part was getting a pony ride around the center ring during intermission. However, I suspect they enjoyed eating popcorn, candy and French fries as much as seeing the acts! There were quite a few animals doing various different impressive things: lions, camels, a dromadary, llamas, zebras, horses, a miniature horse, dogs. I also enjoyed the various feats of strength and balance performed by different groups of acrobats and gymnasts. One pair of men from Peru managed feats of contorsion while one was balancing the other one up in the air on his feet.
