Fall Break News

It's Fall Break for all four of us this week, though I had to go up to the university on Monday for a thirty-minute interview to evaluate my training needs. Sylvain drove me around Monday and Tuesday as my shoulder was still causing me a lot of pain. After three days of treatment, there has been some improvement. The pain is now largely bearable. I also started driving again yesterday and can manage for short distances, though it's still uncomfortable. Going out with the heating pad draped across my shoulders helps.

Yesterday, the university received a bomb threat and all of the Aix campuses were evacuated. Bomb threats have been incessant across the country - airports, train stations, high schools, universities, museums - since the October 13th terrorist attack at the high school in Arras.
Harry and Dobby are both back in good health. We could tell as soon as Harry started jumping back up on the table and the two of them started chasing each other around the house again. Harry has now learned how to jump up on the kitchen counter and subsequently get up on the bar counter. Dobby cannot yet follow. He's still at the jumping in and out of the hamper phase. Harry continues to be fascinated with water in the bathroom. He likes to sit right at the edge of the wet zone and watch people shower. He doesn't seem to mind getting a little spray, if it's just a few drops. Dobby often tags along, but he sits further back. Wednesday during yoga, the girls were taking a bath. Harry decided to check it out and jumped in. He quickly regretted his decision and managed to hurl himself back out again. Only his hind end got soaked. Laureva helped me take the cats to the vet for their booster shots this morning. Here they are resting afterwards:
I made an appointment to take them back to get neutered and chipped on December 14th.
I haven't been able to do much this week, but Marie-Elisabeth has been taking the girls to do activities with Gabrielle and Louis. They went to La Ciotat for a walk and ice cream on Monday. Tuesday afternoon, Gabrielle came over to hang out while Jackye took Louis to the Paw Patrol movie. I think the girls played lots of board games. Yesterday, they all went to a big indoor fun center near Aix. The only thing I heard about was called the spider: a big multi-leveled rope net structure to climb around in.
This morning, the girls and I worked on some craft projects for Christmas gifts as it's nearly time for us to start getting our boxes ready to mail.
