Bob Saga

Anwyl has been playing music regularly with drummer he's known for years, who has a cat named Bob. Bob looks quite a bit like Greyboy--beautiful big stripey cat with green eyes--and Anwyl frequently mentioned what a nice cat he was. A few weeks ago, the drummer, who is on disability due to bipolar disorder, started canceling things and then disappeared. When he didn't respond to calls for many days, Anwyl went by his house and found no drummer but a very hungry Bob, in very poor condition. We started going over to feed Bob twice a day and after a couple more days with no drummer, contacted the police, who checked up on him and told us he was alive and safe, but by law they couldn't tell us where he was. The drummer's ex-girlfriend figured out which hospital he was in and got his permission to mail us the keys to his apartment, which we are hoping to get before three days of stormy weather forecast for next week so that we can keep Bob out of the rain (he's been living on the patio, which doesn't have good drainage and seems devoid of dry spots.) My guess is that our friend went into a depression and may have stopped caring for the cat even before he was hospitalized, as Bob was emaciated and had developed a skin condition that really needs treatment. I'm hoping to get a mobile vet to take a look at him and made some calls today, although no appointment yet. Luckily our friend's apartment is convenient to visit, only about 10 minutes away. For now, we're just taking it day by day.
