Up really early (5 a.m.) for a run and some exercise at a fitness park (push-ups, pullups, etc.). Ready at 6:55 for the bus ride out of Copenhagen.
We went across a really long suspension bridge and ended up at a Danfoss factory where drives (for things like pump motors) are produced.
We did some stuff there, ate lunch at their "canteen", took a factory tour, etc. Then, it was off to Kolding, where we had dinner and are spending the night.
We had dinner in a castle. For dinner tonight, we had a pastry with duck as a starter (not bad, although I avoided the mayo and pickled onions), then a puff pastry topped with pheasant (really, not my favorite), followed by veal (which was good, although I didn't care for the weirdly flavored carrots or potato thing alongside), and finally dessert (currant ice cream and some sort of cake, both of which were good).

Loving this itinerary! Did you learn anything useful about pump manufacture?
Danfoss just does the drives that control power to the motors, which power the pumps. The degree of automation is pretty cool to see. The machines are really fast putting together the circuit boards and what not.
One interesting thing is that the small stuff (drives for 10 hp and less) is fully automated, but the larger drives alhave more stuff done by hand. Apparently, this is due to the number of drives; there are so many small ones that automation makes sense financially, but they haven't reached that point on the larger sizes. Sometimes, it is still more efficient to just do it by hand.
Now this is a man who is dedicated to running - or whose body is on a different time zone - or both!
