Fun with Gifts

Friday morning, the girls made chocolate-covered pretzels with the peppermint melts from Evan & Julie.

In the afternoon, I started grading papers and the girls went to the circus in Marseille with Marie-Elisabeth, Jackye, Gabrielle and Louis. Maëva particularly enjoyed watching the trapeze artists. Franck and Paul were also there with their families, seated across the ring. The girls arrived home while I was doing yoga. After yoga, we video chatted with Mom and Andrew while Mom opened her Christmas gifts.

After dinner, we watched a classic French movie called L'Aile ou la cuisse with Louis de Funès and Coluche. The girls tried out their Harry Potter House color-reveal hot cocoa from Roy & Nicole for a showtime treat.

Saturday, the cover for the new ping pong table from Marie-Elisabeth arrived so Sylvain set up the table and the girls tried it out. They've been asking for a table for quite some time. Whenever we would go to Maryelle and Christian's houses in Roquevaire and Ardèche, they would spend most of their time playing. We set it up outside the office downstairs so it will be easy for them to go out and play whenever.

In the evening, Sylvain dug out the DVD of Itineraire d'un enfant gâté, one of his favorite movies, with Jean-Paul Belmondo, and lugged the DVD player upstairs and connected it to the TV so we could show the movie to the girls. They enjoyed it, though they both claimed to have difficulty understanding what was going on with the flashbacks in the first part.
