Like a baby heartbeat

We had a visit with the doctor this afternoon to check up on Nicole's progress. We were supposed to hear the heartbeat, and we got to listen to a variety of sounds from inside, but the whooshing of the placenta drowned out the one we were expecting. The doctor showed us on the little ultrasound machine he had in the examining room, instead.

The check-up was otherwise uneventful. She's due back in about five weeks, which will be right after Christmas.
