Yesterday, Rachel and I were downstairs on the first floor—I don't remember what we were doing, but possibly making breakfast—when she announced, "It's hot. I'm going to turn on the heat," approximately. She took her stool and went into the living room. I didn't think much of it. She came back a minute later and said something like, "It's warm now, it's not hot."
On the way to the holiday party last night, Nicole told me, "Rachel turned the thermostat down to 63 today." We usually have it set to 64. Nicole knew Rachel was responsible because she found the stool sitting underneath the thermostat. I related the story above, and we had a good laugh.
Rachel has been running around with no pants on lately, because of potty training. Nicole often turns the heat up because it's a bit chilly on the first floor (the upper floors are significantly warmer, though the gradient is less than it used to be since we had the exterior walls insulated). Apparently, Rachel has been paying attention.
