Serves her right

Yesterday, on my way home, I had to stop on Main St in downtown Norman because a lady in front of me stopped in the middle (of three lanes). When I'd come to a stop, I realized she was waiting for a car to back out of a spot so she could park. There wasn't a whole lot of traffic, so I went around her to the right (the person backing out was on the left). And, I thought to myself "What an idiot! If she wanted to park on the left, she should have been in the left lane. Now, she's blocking 2/3rds of the road because the person who's backing out is blocking one lane and she's blocking another."

I also noticed, as I proceeded eastbound, that there were lots of empty spots just a little farther up ... in clear view of this lady, if she looked.

Then, much to my delight, I saw a big truck steal the spot from the lady. Ha! Serves her right! I'm sure she got another spot. And, I'm still a little confused by her maneuver. I guess I have trouble comprehending people's actions sometimes.

P.S. I helped Marcus move yesterday. On my way up to his apartment (in Edmond), I was on I-235 when I saw red tail lights in front of me. What now? I didn't really care about having to stop because Marcus had called me to say he was going to be late just minutes before. So, I slowed down and saw the cause of the problem. A guy had a couple big rolling trash cans in the back of his truck ... well, actually, he only had 1. One had fallen out. He had stopped and was running back to retrieve it so it would not block one of the middle lanes (of 3 or 4) of traffic. Not surprisingly, when I saw his truck, I saw that he hadn't actually tied them down. Apparently, he didn't feel like securing his load ... not unlike the guy who put the deerstand on I-35W near Fort Worth a few years back.
