New Family Member?

Mike took Britt to the dog park Thursday afternoon. There were a few other dogs there, but Britt went and made friends with a dog who was laying between one of the benches and a tree. They played. Then all the people and other dogs left, except one! Mike took her and went by the animal shelter. They told him she came from Blue Hawk Kennels, so he went there. They wouldn't take her. (She is wearing a collar and tags.) But they knew who had adopted her. Well, their phone is disconnected and they no longer live that the address on file. So is she lost, or purposefully abandoned? The kennel told him that Jenny and her sister had been found along a road near Slaughterville and they were just bags of bones. So she's already had a rough life! We need to finish some flyers to put up at the dog park and the pet stores.

Oh, by the way, her name of record at the kennel is Jennifer (which seems a bit much for a dog) or Jenny!

Poor girl ... she's such a sweety, too.

We asked Andrew if G'ma should keep the new dog, and he said "Yes."

She sounds like a keeper to me! Sending a pat and ear scratch. I'm a little confused about the sequence, though...she doesn't look too much like a bag of bones in the picture, was this a previous time she was lost? Or is the Blue Hawk Kennels a rescue place?

I know nothing about Blue Hawk kennels. Apparently she was taken there as a bag of bones, was subsequently adopted then ended up alone at the dog park where Mike found her. Because she was wearing tags, the Norman shelter knew she had been at Blue Hawk and referred him there to get info. But her family had moved and the phone number no longer worked.

She is a sweetheart. But she chews on things ... which is okay if she has one of the dog toys. She also digs. And she is absolutely convinced there is something living under the shed (she's probably right -- might be bunnies). And she's also convinced there is something living under the deck -- or maybe Evan and Jenn didn't keep their skeletons in the closet? Andrew just liked her because she didn't constantly want to give him sloppy kisses like Britt does.
