I'm sitting in my living room watching the Gastineau Apartments burn. I believe they're next door to the Baranof, which has been evacuated. I see flames coming from the top of the building and through the windows on multiple floors and a lot of smoke. The Empire reports there's concern the Elks building may be lost, too. Tom's working at Rainforest Recovery (at the hospital) and called to let me know so far he'd heard only of minor injuries and that the plan was to monitor the building as it burns tonight as it's severe enough they can't get inside to fight it.

Way too much excitement! So happy to hear that no one was seriously hurt and I hope that has continued. There's always a special kick to the news when it involves somewhere one remembers being...
