Lucas lost a tooth on the way to school. So, while Shelly was able to supervise the tooth being placed under Lucas' pillow, he won't be around when the Tooth Fairy (presumably) comes. He left explicit instructions for Prance (Lucas' new kitten beanie baby) to oversee the transaction with the Tooth Fairy. Shelly thinks everything will go off without a hitch. However, he also acknowledges the reality that things may good awry in his absence.

Has Lucas lost teeth before? I don't remember.
The blog only tells me that it was about six years ago that he got his first one.
