Getting out of his shell: 6.1

I had a long day. Shelly? Not as long. But, he did help. He didn't help me run 18 miles this morning. I did that on my own. Shelly slept in.

Shelly did help me go get new work boots at Tractor Supply Co.

Randy and I went out and did some geotechnical investigations at our proposed booster pump station site. Thus, the need for the boots. These investigations involved digging down as far as we could with post hole diggers. From surface to five feet, all we found was light brown silty sand. Very homogeneous.

But, before we started digging, a 4-foot-long cottonmouth decided it would try to scare us away. Fortunately, for me, it went after Randy. It caught us by surprise, but we were still able to avoid an unfortunate encounter. After we regained composure, we decided to just let it be. It slithered away, and we were on alert the rest of the recon task.

After, we stopped at a liquor store and Shelly helped us find some ABC. One of the things we found was the new double IPA, which isn't out in Juneau yet. Just fyi, it is delicious!
