Winter trimester report cards came home yesterday. Here's what Rachel's teachers had to say. From her home room teacher:
This trimester, we have covered units on Analyzing Text Structures and Inference, in both fiction and nonfiction reading. We have completed units on Fiction, Essay and Expository Nonfiction writing. Rachel scored very well on all three types of writing! Rachel has read 31 out of the 40-book minimum this year. She reads well above grade level. In science we finished a unit on Microworlds, and Rachel scored very well on the unit tasks. In social studies, we did a Discovery simulation about European settlers in the New World and the Civil Rights Movement. Rachel is always engaged in the learning and continues to be a pleasure to have in class every day! From her math teacher:
Rachel works above grade level in all areas of sixth-grade math. Rachel is quick to solve challenging problems, and she always asks insightful questions. Rachel is exceptional, and I really enjoy teaching her each day.And her weekly instrumental music teacher:
Rachel has made an excellent effort (individual practice times) and has developed better upper range. We are working on music for our Spring Concert (June 4), and Rachel is becoming ready to contribute in a big way. Keep up the good effort, Rachel!
