Edgar Returns

Edgar Easter Bunny finally hopped back by with the Roald Dahl box set he'd promised Maëva for Easter. She found them waiting for her at breakfast Tuesday morning. And to her delight (she's constantly talking about how she doesn't have enough books!), there were 16 books in the set instead of the promised 15! Apparently, the Easter Bunny doesn't count so well. Maëva selected The Witches to take with her to school and started reading it there. As she discussed it after school, I was pleasantly surprised to find the story coming back to me, especially the part about how to tell a witch from a normal woman. Maëva's still reading that one, but as it was all the way downstairs, we started reading another, Matilda, at story time this afternoon. Fun, fun, fun!!!

I think Matilda is my favorite, of the ones I have read. We have a box set, too, that Rachel got as a gift from one of her first-grade friends, but we've never made it all the way through.

How could you not enjoy a book about a precocious reader!

Telekinetic powers don't hurt, either.
