Monday afternoon, we met Loriane at the new Coffee House in La Bouilladisse for an afternoon snack: crêpes, waffles, cookies, muffins, milkshakes. They've been open for less than a year and it was our first time there. It's a cozy little place with tasty homemade treats. We'll have to go back for brunch sometime.
Tuesday, I spent the day hanging out in Aix with my friend Mary who was down from Strasbourg for a few days. We tasted a bunch of veggie spreads at the market. I bought a spicy artichoke one. Then we had a nice lunch by a fountain on an out-of-the-way square. We shared salmon risotto and fish and chips. Meanwhile, the girls went hiking at the Sainte Baume with Marie-Elisabeth, Jackye and Gabrielle.
Yesterday, I spent the morning helping to plan a joint Ski Club and PTA Christmas celebration then met my friend Régine in Aubagne for lunch. The girls went to see Abominable at the movies. When they got home, they quickly changed into Halloween costumes and we headed to the Barrats for an early Halloween party as we were supposed to be leaving this morning for two days in Ardèche. Laureva had worked on her cat mask for 2 days, with excellent results. In the end, she decided not to wear it. I thought that was a pity, so I sported it myself:
Fred and I helped the five kids carve pumpkins, then the kids went off to play, occasionally coming back to the kitchen area for candy or snacks. We cleaned and then roasted all the pumpkin seeds. Vincent and Sylvain arrived about 7 to join in the Halloween Een apéro festivities.
Unfortunately, the weather forecast for this weekend is quite bad so Ardèche has been cancelled. The girls and I played some 7 Families this morning then watched The Neverending Story.

I'm hanging out in an AirBnB in Houston in between class in Costa Rica and two classes here starting next week. The weather's been quite pleasant -- unlike August. Am wondering if I should stay here into December-- at the moment I have fewer class trips until spring. Also considering dropping by Evan's before stuff goes to storage and/or checking out towns in Washington that might be new home options. M and I have talked about spending winter break in CA, and I'm exploring spending some time in Vancouver, BC early next year. So many choices!

Me, too! Choosing towns would be part of the exploration. Just have a notion that's a state that might be more to my taste climate-wise. Maybe not too close to Seattle, mostly for price reasons. I've looked at AirBnBs in Bellingham and not seen much appealing.
