This weekend, Janice made the not unsubstantial trek from Goliad, TX (you all will be familiar with Goliad soon enough) to Norman, OK. She arrived late - I would have had time to go workout if I'd known) - because she had trouble finding the Chipotle in Denton, TX. She decided on her drive that she'd stop there and pick burritos up for me, so she didn't know exactly where it was. Who would? However, she arrived safely, with the burritos, a little bit before Jenn got home.
Over the course of the weekend, we did a variety of things, including going furniture shopping during the OU v. Bowling Green game (I taped it and had to work hard not to let anyone tell me the score). We ended up buying a new queen size bed with a headboard and footboard and two end tables, as well as an armoire that I have been assigned the task of putting together, anyone want to help? I guess I deserve it, since I'm the one who insisted on that particular one, but I just didn't like any of the others as much - at least of the ones that they weren't out of.
On Sunday, we played putt-putt (miniature golf) at Perfect Swing. We hadn't played there, but we'd been to the driving range and had glanced at the min. golf and it looked pretty beat up, but we figured we'd take our chances (since Janice and I like putt-putt . . . Jenn, we're not so sure about). It turns out there are 2 courses, one is in horrible shape and you aren't supposed to play it, but the other one is playable and a nice, fair course - aside from the hole where there is grass growing in a corner, so the ball will roll off the course when it otherwise would not, but we won't get into that . . . stupid 1 stroke penalty!!! I recovered from that travesty to win in 51 strokes, with Janice and Jenn close behind (I'll leave it to the reader to decide how close they finished, no one shot over 100). Then, we went and got snocones - we were disappointed to learn that the place was closing until next summer. Later that afternoon, we went to OKC and walked around the Federal Buidling memorial where the bombings took place. It's a nice memorial, a little sad, but also a nice tribute. While we were there, I thought "I should have brought my camera." I'm not used to posting pictures on the blog, so I forget my camera at times. Oh well, everyone will just have to go in person, it's probably not the same in pictures anyway. Then, we went down to Bricktown and had dinner at The Bricktown Brewery. They didn't have my 1st beer choice, some kind of wheat beer - I don't remember why, and my second choice they were changing kegs, but apparently the lady was having trouble and my waiter only managed to get me half a beer, but he gave it to me for free, so it wasn't too big a disaster. Instead of mints, they have key lime candies (or at least they did Sunday night) . . . yum!
We sent Janice off early Monday and started on a de-wallpapering project, which is still under way. I think we'll probably polish it off this next weekend, when we have a little more time.
Anyway, I should get back to working on my linear algebra practice problems for Sci. Computing . . . does anyone know about inversions and permutations (odd and even)? Well, hopefully I will soon.
