16 month old Alaskan

This young bear, and his brother, were orphaned near Nome, AK last year when a hunter killed their mother. So, they ended up in OKC. We think they're cute. They are going to be part of the Oklahoma Trails part of the zoo when it's completed in the near future, so they'll have a nice place to run, play, sleep, etc.

The hippo picture is for Tanya. Just a pygmy ... that's all they have in OKC. It's a small market. The elephant was funny, he was doing the hokey pokey ... he'd stick his right foot forward, pull it back, move it forward again, pull it back again, then finally take a step into the water. Then, he'd do the same thing with his left. He was also splashing around and drinking while holding hay in his trunk ... talented big guy ... or gal ... I'm not really sure. The little rhino is about 3 months old ... progressing well on the growing front. It won't be rhino and mini-rhino for long!
