In retrospect, the era ended a while back. But, today was a ceremonial moment officially slamming the door on our inaugural time in Norman. Today, we sold the waverunner.
Unlike the Honda Civic, the waverunner was not giving us difficulty. It never did, unless you count the time the battery was dead when we went out the first time one year ... oops. And, unlike the Civic, we did not outgrow it. Rather, we a) didn't have time to use it and b) Jenn got pregnant ... again. You aren't supposed to ride PWC when you're pregnant!
So, after a fair amount of consideration, we decided we'd sell it. With "Lucas" coming along in a couple months, we don't think we'll have a lot of free time coming the rest of this year. And, the kids won't be old enough to ride along for at least a few years. It doesn't make sense for us to just keep it in the garage for the next 5-6 years, so we did what anyone would do: we put it on craigslist!
Actually, I made a pdf for Jenn to distribute (I don't think she did much distributing), then Marcus posted it on craigslist last night, but Jenn had to verify the post after she got to work this morning. Within minutes (15-30), Jenn got a call from a lady in eastern Oklahoma who made a decent offer. So, she drove in to town and we made the transaction.
It really screwed up my day (I was planning to go workout over lunch, but had to go home to collect some stuff, then meet up with Jenn and the buyer later on), but that's okay. It seems to be headed for a good home, surrounded by a variety of other toys (motorcycles, 4-wheelers, etc.), and we won't have to move it, insure it to sit in a garage, etc. Also, we won't have to give any more consideration to what we are going to do with it, or deal with the logistics at a later date. Unfortunately, the humidity rolled in with the storms yesterday and is still around, so it's a little sticky!

Oh dear "Wave", you'll be missed. We'll always remember our special times at the lake with you. Best of luck on your future adventures!
If you had never had the waverunner, we would never have had the fantastic masterlock blog post ... or the classic missing keys experience. Good times!
Sounds like a wise moving-on decision. It will be fondly remembered!
