Late last week, we went by the house because they were supposed to be installing the cabinets. We were a little disappointed to find that the cabinets were wrong. The first picture shows some of the cabinets in the master bathroom. The style is correct, we're having the beadboard style cabinets in all the bathrooms. The second picture shows the kitchen cabinets, which are shaker style. The problem, you see, is that they are made with knotty alder; they are supposed to be maple.
Apparently, the lady who entered our selections screwed up one important detail ... the one that the cabinet maker looks at to determine what he's supposed to make (said employee no longer is employed by the builder - not because of this snaffu). So, they're working on the replacements, we're hoping to see those installed in the coming week.

That was a close call! I think the maple will be much more elegant. Glad they are going to fix them, I hope you didn't have to force the point.
Good thing you go by often and check up on them.
