We are so lucky here at Nothing But Tromble to have early access to such pertinent cutting-edge publications! Who gets credit for authorship, the whole group?
Certain people contributed quite a bit more than others ... I won't name names, though. I will say that we tried to get some of the wording of things changed, unsuccessfully. Actually, I'm not sure I've read the final version. I gave edits a couple different rounds and helped make edits, but I think a lot of those edits were re-edited back towards their original form. Oh well.
I have no idea who gets credit for authorship. I did some of the work, so I take some credit.
Sure a lot of NOAA folks on the list.
Feeling a little left out?
Yeah, there are. The main leaders of this particular effort, from a organizational standpoint, are the folks at the NSSL, they're trying to tie together the research with the emergency managers who rely on information from the river forecast centers ... or something like that.
The hydrologic modeling is a joint OU/NSSL effort, while the hydrodynamic modeling is our group at OU in conjunction with Rick at UNC ... and the operational simulations are performed at RENCI (in NC) with a lot of effort from folks over there and Jason Fleming, who used to post-doc with Rick and is now contracted to work on ADCIRC projects.
I'm not really keyed into the outreach/education aspects of the effort.
Speaking of NOAA, I heard there is a new Water Center being developed in cooperation with the University of Alabama and a bunch of people from the D.C. area - including the people at OHD - are going to be moving to Crimson Tide country.
