Imminent Germ Danger

Flu is going around Laureva's school. Rosalie, who was here Sunday, has it, along with quite a few other kids, apparently. Covid is going around Maëva's school. I convinced the girls to start masking again at school starting Friday so as not to jeopardize their upcoming surprise trip with their grandmother (they know about it, but not where they're going). Laureva forgot to take a mask today, though. I hope they will both stay well through the weekend. They are scheduled to leave Saturday morning and return Monday evening.

Last week, I heard on the radio that all adults are now elligible for Covid boosters in France. Then I ran into a colleague at work who said his pharmacist had spoken to him about it and vaccinated him on the spot. Friday, I went to our local pharmacy in downtown Roquevaire to inquire. They said they weren't vaccinating and didn't know anything about increased elligibility. This morning, I got a notification from the Tous Anti-Covid app that I was elligible. After my aqua bike session, I went to the nearby pharmacy in Pont de l'Etoile to inquire. They gave me an appointment for Thursday morning.

The vaccine, at least, is good news.

The girls are down. Both started running 39.5 to 40°C fevers overnight. Maëva is disappointed because she won't be able to present her slideshow today in English class.
