Sunday night (February 26th), it started snowing again sometime after the girls went to bed and while Sylvain was at the OM game in Marseille. Around 11:30, as I was getting ready for bed, I looked up and noticed the bathroom skylight was covered in snow. I got my phone and went back upstairs to take some pictures of outside for the girls. Sylvain arrived shortly after. He had taken a video of the snowfall at the bottom of the drive to show them, as well. There was a layer of very wet snow, about an inch, over everything.
We knew the forecast was for the snow to turn to rain in the middle of the night. It did, but there was still a little bit left for the girls to play with in the morning. They were extremely excited.
On my drive into Aix, the roads were all clear, but the countryside was still snow-covered. The area around Aix was noticeably whiter than our own Garlaban area.
Tuesday on my drive into Aix, the fields along the freeway were clear, but there was still some snow on the Sainte Victoire.
In other news, Sunday, we were excited about the possibility of purchasing Olympics tickets. Unfortunately, by the time our slot rolled around on Tuesday, there were no reasonably-priced tickets left. There still might be a possibility of purchasing tickets to an event at a later date. We'll see.
Wednesday morning, I helped organize a workshop for high school English teachers. The idea was for them to get a better idea of what we do with our students, and vice versa. It was interesting, though we hardly got to any of the content we'd prepared to discuss with them. Mostly, the conversation just revolved around everyone's respective difficulties. Also on Wednesday, the repair man came and fixed our dishwasher. Just in time, too, as we have extra people at our house this weekend, so a lot more dishes than usual.
