Last weekend, or rather, August 12-15 if you prefer, we went to visit our friends Remy and Sabine in their hometown of Pleaux in the Cantal (Roy knows Remy and Sabine and those of you who were at the wedding might remember them). The first two days were wet and cold and we froze, especially at the outdoor party for Remy's fiftieth birthday that lasted until four in the morning! The weather and the much greener landscape reminded me a lot of Juneau actually. This is the region where they have the cows, Salers, from which supposedly comes the best beef in the world. All but me enjoyed petting the cows by day and then munching on them for dinner!
