Frat Boys

A freshman Sooner from Georgia
went out for a run, it's good for ya,
he was running near campus and not looking back,
running at full speed as he neared the train track.

Trains cruise through the middle of town,
roads blocked by the gates coming down,
it's a nuisance, not a pain in the ass,
afterall, you'll just be late for class.

This freshman, he was in a frat,
so, he was, undoubtedly, a brat,
he thought he was fast,
so he gave it a go,
not wait for the train to pass,
he gave onlookers a show!

They met at the tracks,
can you guess the result?
The train has a lot of energy and momentum
KE = 1/2*m*v^2 and momentum = m*v

He should have heeded the signs,
running in place, or circles, would've been fine,
if'd he'd just let it pass,
he'd be sitting in class,
which is just a bit better,
than being planted beneath the grass.

The End.

I happened to pick up a paper between classes today, and that was the story on the front page. I guess he wasn't as fast as he thought he was. Or, maybe the train was faster than he thought it was.

I liked the way you worked your little formulas in there to address Tanya's comment on your first poetic post!
