Philly

Thursday (still last week, remember) we drove up to Philadelphia. It takes under two hours, I think, in good traffic. Nicole and I had only been to the outskirts once to watch a Giants-Phillies game in May 2003.

This time, we went to the old part of the city and toured the major sites. We saw the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, which you find pictured here, though we couldn't go into the latter because they were out of free tickets. We went into several equally old but slightly less interesting buildings, then found a restaurant where we could eat cheese steak sandwiches. Then, after a few more stops at some more old buildings, we came back to Baltimore.

If you look closely, by the way, you can see Roy (Taylor) in his cowboy hat.

These pictures were taken with our new camera. We upgraded from my six-year-old early adopted megapixel camera to something more modern, which will, no doubt, be the source of any photos you see from here on out on the blog. Too bad its shipment was delayed and it didn't arrive in time for our New York visit. The view from the top of the Empire State Building would have been a lot cooler with 16x zoom.
