Happy birthday to me

The blog turns one today, as you can see. So, as I suggested before, we're going to try out a retrospective theme. In order to participate, you'll have to reminisce a little bit. Take a tour of the last year. That archive box on the right is a good place to start. Just pick some months and see what was up. I suggest high-level skimming.

Then, we're going to play favorites. Select two posts: one that you wrote, and one by someone else. Link to them*. Then tell us why you think they are worth drawing attention to after all this time.

Sorry that there's no search engine to help in this process. Even if you know what post you want, you'll still have to locate it by browsing. Someday!

* Navigate to the page of the target post, then copy the URL from the address bar at the top of your browser window. (You may want to use a separate window/tab for this so that you can simultaneously write your post.) In the post composition window, select the text that you want to link to that page, and click on the button next to the italic one that looks like two chain links on top of a green ball. Now paste in the URL you copied before. (Make sure that the "http://" that is already there gets deleted.) Preview your post, then make sure the link works by opening it in a new window/tab.
