I had my second therapy session this morning. I'm happy to report that my ankle is doing a lot better. Still hurts, but a lot better. I've never had physical therapy before, but it's great! Insurance pays for somebody to give you a massage. Why didn't I come up with this before?!
Cooking Challenge: What would you add to fried zucchini patties to make them more flavorful? The main ingredients are grated zucchini, flour, eggs, salt, olive oil and baking soda. If you come up with a good suggestion, I might just try it!

Cayenne pepper, paprika, and black pepper.
What's blog kill kill? Is that killing blog kill?
Garlic? I add grated carrots to hamburger patties. Nicole thinks it's weird, but it tastes good. It might work here, too. Brown sugar? I don't know if that goes with olive oil. Radish or some other tangy vegetable could work. I don't know much about spices. I'll defer to Evan for them.
You added carrots to hamburger patties? What were you thinking? Garlic would go with the spices I listed above. Having never eaten fried zucchini patties (or friend, as you called them), I'm not sure exactly what they taste like. Do they taste like chicken? Therefore, it's hard for me to say what would work well.
Another consideration may be when you are serving the dish and what will be served with it.
I think garlic. But Mr. Roberts added pineapple juice to hamburger patties -- and they were REALLY good, and super moist. That might be another way to go. Or you could serve them with some sort of sauce -- or maybe your aoli (or however it's spelled) -- I'll bet salsa would be good on them. Lots of possibilities.
Evan -- the zucchini itself doesn't have much taste, thus the need for seasonings, and will pretty much take on the taste of whatever it is with. That's why zucchini makes good chocolate cake -- just adds moistness without flavor.
Pineapple, brown sugar, ginger, garlic and pepper are a good combination on meat ... I think there may be a couple other ingredients, maybe soy sauce, which lead to caribbean (one b or two?) jerk seasoning ... I don't know how pineapple would work with zucc, it might be too big a change to the consistency of the stuff ... since it's a liquid.
My first two thoughts were black pepper and garlic.

How 'bout a little Habanero hot sauce? That'll spice things up a little bit!
Tom suggests grated parmesan cheese, minced portabella mushroom, basil or a dash of sherry & nutmeg. (I'm using Tom's new tablet PC with pen.)
Wow--looks to me like we should make recipe a theme! My most recent success was strawberry-rhubarb sauce...chop up the rhubarb, add sugar, and cook to a pulp like usual but after turning the heat off add chopped up strawberries, about equal amount to the rhubarb. Not a NEW recipe, but at least if the strawberries are good they seem to blend in fine without really cooking and at least I fancied that the strawberry taste balanced better.
Oh, I would have said something about the zucchini patties except everybody else already said it...garlic.
We should definitely make cooking a theme. Meredith took the words right out of my fingers. I didn't know my question would get such an enthusiastic response. I like Tom's suggestion the best. I still have a lot of zucchini so maybe I'll give some of your ideas a shot.
"Try a new recipe" and "Favorite kinds of pie" were both suggested as themes—by Nicole and Tanya respectively—just never selected by the random line picker.
Observing that (a) everyone has to eat, pretty much every day and (b) perhaps more surprisingly, everyone seems to have taken an interest in fried zucchini patties, I'm tempted to suggest that cooking simply become a permanent fair-game topic. Why wait for a special week?
On the other hand, I have found that themes provide windows of opportunity that prompt action because of their transience, so making it official might help get the pin rolling. Since it's almost Friday, let's do it now. Any objections? Someone else can decide what, in particular, we should write about cooking.
Ha ha ... what about cooking puns ... get the pin rolling ... ha ha ha ha ha ... nice one Roy.
Personally, I have no interest in eating fried zucchini patties. They might be fun to play frisbee with, if they were made big enough.
Tom's suggestion was actually 2. (Any combination of the first set of ingredients) OR (sherry & nutmeg). I hope the mis-punctuation didn't throw any off (or cause any throw ups).
