Heat Wave -- But It's All Relative!

Juneau had the highest temperature in the state yesterday (according to the news and the weather service) at 83 (officially). I'm really surprised that Fairbanks wasn't higher, but ... The forecast for today is 87, which will break the record for the day (84) if we get there. The forecast for tomorrow is 91, which will be the all-time record (breaking the former record of 90 back on July 5, 1975). It's supposed to continue clear and warm through Tuesday now, although temps are forecast to go down this weekend (to about 80)! I guess it's summer this week. I'm going to take off early on Thursday (the boss will be in Anchorage) and maybe get the siding for the chimney -- although I don't know that I'll actually put it up when it's that hot -- maybe a Saturday morning project, unless I get invited hiking by old clerks or do something with Kenny and Noriko.
