Tom graduates at the end of July and we're planning to move back to Alaska at the end of August. This afternoon I accepted a job with the State as a Research Analyst with the Division of Public Assistance working with data and policies related to several of their programs. It's a lower level than I was previously but with no supervisory duties, so I hope will allow a healthy work/rest-of-life balance. Tom's exploring a couple of promising work options. He'll be in Juneau at the beginning of August to meet some of the people he's been talking to and then goes to Anchorage for a 2-day training. His brother and family will also be in Juneau so he'll have family reunion time, too.
Meanwhile I’ve signed up for a last burst of woo-woo classes before the move, which won’t leave oodles of time for packing and stuff disposal. Our current plan is to leave Boulder by car on Aug. 25 and drop me off in Salt Lake City for a class. Then Tom will drive the car to the barge in Seattle and fly to Juneau. I’ll fly to Juneau on Aug 31 and start work on Sept. 1. Yikes.
We may adjust that plan if the quote from the movers comes in higher than we’ve budgeted (which I’m expecting after talking with them today).

Are you going to be able to move back into your place right away? Congratulations to Tom for graduating! Hope you saved your rain gear!
Oh..... and what on earth is "woo-woo"?
It will be nice to have family back in Alaska. A good reason to go visit!
My tenants are supposed to get notice to leave by the end of August--but my property manager is on vacation so I'm hoping that actually happens. We're planning to stay at Tom's parents' for awhile so we can paint and put new flooring in my house before moving stuff in. His parents had planned to visit his brother in Minnesota for Sept & Oct but their usual sublet wasn't available so they may not be gone. If Tom gets a full-time job right away we may not have time for home improvement--we'll see how it goes.

At the moment woo-woo includes: more Jin Shin Jyutsu (I took a class in July and have another one in Salt Lake City on the way to Juneau); Matrix Energetics (had a class in June and am attending weekly and monthly playgroups); a Vibrational Medicine workshop this weekend; a 4-day Spirit 2000 Retreat on the Science of Subconscious Change the following weekend (don't know much about this one but the price was right); and a 5-day workshop with a former Matrix Energetics teacher who's now running seminars in his own process.

How "right" was the price? Maybe that's a sign that the class was wrong!
Sounds fantastic! And they must have really wanted you for the job since they went for the September start date -- that's got to be good. Always nice to be in demand...
