Rain, rain, stay away

It's been a wet week in Oklahoma. The Norman mesonet station has recorded 6+ inches in the last two weeks, but it hasn't rained much in Norman since early in the week. It rained on us Saturday when we were moving some of Mike's stuff to mom's. It poured so much on Sunday that we got some minor flooding in the yard. Then, Tuesday and Thursday, south OKC got so much rain in the early afternoon that there was fairly widespread flooding. However, we didn't get much of anything in Norman during those events.

Usually, I like the rain - especially when there isn't severe weather (hail, tornadoes, strong winds, etc.) associated with the precipitation. However, I need to mow! And, fortunately, I finally am starting to feel better. So, I'm planning to mow tomorrow. The grass is long. I'm sure it's thick and moist. So, I'm guessing I'll have to lug quite a few bags out to the curb for Monday pick-up. But, another dose of rain could ruin my exciting Sunday plans!

If I get the lawn mowed, the rain will be welcome back as soon as tomorrow evening!

We have had hot and dry weather for a while. Got some nice rain this morning -- the heavy thunderstorms haven't materialized.
