Dancing

Not long ago - probably less than a week - Jenn was commenting that Andrew didn't dance like Rachel seemed to at a similar age. I replied that I thought it was probably because we don't, generally, dance around the house and that I imagined Nicole was probably responsible for Rachel's dancing, although maybe Roy and his "Whoop" button are the main driving force.

A couple days ago, Andrew was walking around the living room and he was moving his arms around and squatting down and bouncing. I actually think he might have left the floor a little bit when he "jumped" up out of his squat. He was "dancing" all around the living room. It was a little bizarre, given that he had not previously shown inclinations towards dancing.

The dancing has continued the last couple days. Last night, we decided that they must be dancing at day care and I told Jenn she should inquire about it when she dropped him off in the morning. She did. And, they have. So, score one for nurture, although I think if the dancing continues, nature will have quite a bit to say about his abilities later on ... although, so would nurture.

Rachel was dancing while I was pregnant with her. Red Hot Chili Peppers were a sure way to get her to move.

She may have my genetics when it comes to jumping though. Maybe we should have Roy try to intervene with the nurture and show her how it is done.

I'm sure it is good for developing coordination - plus it is entertaining. We need VIDEO!
