More and more of Oates’s novels have a tendency to recall elements of detective and crime fiction, though the writer herself prefers the label “mystery and suspense” stories. This article looks at the way Oates rewrites detective fiction, making it correspond to her enigmatic vision of the world, giving it a more human dimension that perhaps speaks more fully to contemporary readers.

No, the title is not meant to be misleading. The article is also in English. It's a French English studies journal so they publish articles in either language.
I often encounter people perpetrating crimes against logic. I'm not very fond of such activities.
