Sunday the 2nd. Last day of morning cartoons and Minnie pancakes. School starts again tomorrow. Late morning, we headed out to La Ciotat. Mom had found the harbor pretty when she caught a glimpse of it on our way to the circus. When we arrived, we found a huge market in full swing. We walked around the market and harbor area. Maëva wanted to ride on one of the big yachts, but no invitation was proffered, so we had to stay on shore. Her consolation prize was a pink bandana that we found to replace her red bandana and make her Sheriff Callie costume more authentic. When we got to the end of the market, we decided to keep walking down the coast a bit to find a calmer place to get some lunch. On the way, we found a nice playground and stopped for Maëva. Once again, the equipment was shaped like a ship. Around the outside, there was really nice workout equipment for adults and some wooden deck chairs (see Mom's FB photos). We found a seaside snack bar for sandwiches and fries, then retraced our steps after lunch, stopping again at the playground and then again for ice cream before reaching the car in the garage. Maëva had a cone with one scoop of strawberry and declared it the best ice cream she had ever "seen." She was adamant at her choice of past participle. We decided to take the scenic route home via La Route des Crêtes that goes up the cliffs along the coast between La Ciotat and Cassis as Mom had never been up there. She loved the spectacular views. Back home for a relaxing evening. The girls needed baths and Mom needed to pack. Marie-Elisabeth and David came to say goodbye to Mom. Sylvain said goodbye before heading out to watch the OM game. Mom and the girls said goodbye and Mom read Maëva her bedtime story: Rumble in the Jungle. Mom isn't leaving until tomorrow, but we have to leave the house at 5 am in order to get her to her 7 am flight.
