Pruning Efforts

A few months ago, Roy went to a class on how to prune trees.  He was invited, because we planted the Cascara from a city program.

Friday morning, after watching a few pruning videos, we decided to prune the espalier trees (looks like we are suppose to do this each month in the until frost).  The trees cleaned up nicely.

We didn't want to cut all the flowers off because then we won't have a chance to get fruit.  Later this summer, we will prune to improve its shape and install posts and copper pipes to train the trees like we did with the pears.
