Monday I read that Seattle has had just four tenths of an inch of rain, about a centimeter, since July 4. They're forecasting more than that this weekend, finally. July and August historically average less than an inch apiece, but about twice as much as we've had in this stretch, and September averages almost two inches, I think. The grass field where Eric practices soccer on Wednesdays is completely yellow, or brown.
I worked from home today, but got to take Eric by bike to school. Nicole guest taught at Blaine K-8 again, in Magnolia. Tomorrow she has a spot at Coe in the afternoon. Hamilton added several class sections this week due to additional funding from the district—it has more students than expected—but Lydia's schedule remains unchanged.
I forgot to mention in yesterday's post that Saturday was the day my children's combined ages surpassed mine. They're still behind when counting whole years, but ahead when counting in days.
