Tiger stripes

Monday there was a bake off at work. I was also waiting for a call from the electrical inspector, so I waited at home until lunch time. Naturally, the inspector came without calling first while I was not there, probably just a few minutes before the boys got home from school. I have rescheduled for Friday.

I entered two things in the bake off, which was a contest with voting. Like so many races this year, the results have not yet been finalized. Here are my breads, shown with photos of previous instances of themselves.

Rachel had her first day of basketball tryouts today. They continue through Wednesday, and then practice starts immediately on Thursday, I believe. She said there were about forty participants, and there will be three teams, including JVC, meaning there should be few cuts.

Here's a bonus photo of me and Lloyd dressed as twins.

I liked the one I baked on Sunday better, although Nicole thought it was very slightly undercooked. I left yesterday's in the oven a couple minutes longer than I intended because I chose a poor time to brush my teeth, and it came out a tad dry to my taste, but still got compliments.
