Tired Out

Thursday evening when I left Jenny's house after our weekly get-together, the check tire pressure light came on in my car. This afternoon, I went out to run some errands and went first to the gas station to put air in the problematic right front tire. When I went to fill it, I noticed the tire was damaged, with a bulge protruding at one spot. I filled it, then drove straight to the dealership in Roquevaire to see when they could replace it. When the man came out to take a look, I noticed the right back tire also had a bulge, though smaller. I'm blaming this on Sylvain as I don't have any recollection of scraping the right side of the car along a curb. The Renault man said he'd order my four tires first thing Monday morning, but that I shouldn't do any driving until I can get them changed, other than driving home very slowly and carefully. So now Ellie Bluebell is grounded. On my way home, I stopped to see Sophie as she was having a shoe and purse sale, and it was on the way, so didn't require any unnecessary driving. I mentioned my car woes and she said I could use Léon's car to go to work on Monday, if need be.

I had an extra class this morning. A one-hour Zoom translation class for the distance-learning program. It went well, though only three of the expected students were signed on, and only two of those three participated in any way. The third was apparently having sound problems. Before and after class, I put away the Halloween decorations and started getting out Thanksgiving ones.

After lunch, I took the desert shade net down from the pergola, then brought all the plants inside that can't stay out for winter.

While I went out for errands in the afternoon, the girls went running with Sylvain. When I got back from Sophie's, they were just setting up a game of Monopoly. They asked me to play, but I declined so as to have time for more chores: making beds, doing laundry and putting in a frozen foods order. I think Sylvain won. That seems to be a pretty frequent outcome when they play.
