Since the 15th, the cats have started going out some. They don't go too far from the house, especially Harry. He does the most climbing and jumping inside, but outside Dobby is much more adventurous, so far. Dobby our intrepid adventurer. Harry our timorous homebody.
For the first ten days, Harry would hardly set paw off the patio. He would just watch Dobby running around in the driveway. Dobby scales the rock walls, leaps off them and climbs up in the Judas tree. He has a funny way of running. His hind legs stick out in a stiff-looking way. But he manages to zoom around in spite of his funny gait.
Harry likes to hang out in the planter box by the kitchen. One day he jumped down into the tortoise enclosure and couldn't get back out. He eventually managed to jump up, grab the edge of the gutter with his front paws and pull himself up. He rolled into the gutter, then managed to scramble out onto the roof to get back to the patio via the planter.
Harry is starting to venture further now. Since Christmas Eve, he's been going about with Dobby. They go all the way up to the top edge of our property, past the trampoline, and beyond. Also over on the neighbor's lot past the fence by the Judas tree. He has now become the one that is hardest to get back inside.
