What is it? Apparently the whole web address isn't showing up for me again.

It's a column about a supermarket refusing to put a kid's name on his b-day cake. Why? Because his parents named him Adolf Hitler (Lastname). They also have a kid by the name of Suchandsuch Aryan Nation (Lastname).

The whole thing is ridiculous, and the parents are idiotic. They say they were raised to not mix race socially or romantically, but that they weren't raising their children that way. In fact, they said the b-day party (they got their cake decorated the way they wanted at Wal*mart) was attended by children of mixed races.

The problem I see is that the parents are burdening the kids with these names which will, in all likelihood, lead to discrimination, even if the kids don't do anything. The parents claim that they like the sound of the name and they are just names, but that's just ignorance on their part.

By the way, that's your part of the world now! They got the cake decorated in Pennsylvania!

I'm not buying the "we aren't racists, we just like the sound of the names" bit.

Oh - and who puts last names on kid's birthday cakes, anyway?

His name is Adolf Hitler Campbell. Did you read what his other siblings are called? These people are real works of art. Yes, Evan they live in PA, maybe the mom can join my moms' group and bring her little SS troops along to play dates.
